Burnaby Socials Take Sasquatch 7s

In what was a glorious day for rugby. The Burnaby Lake social 7s team showed the grit and determination it takes to win both on and off the field.

This year at Chilliwack RFC's Sasquatch 7s tournament, the Socials walked away with the tournament plaque in one hand and the 'Most Social Team' trophy in the other. Even with all the success the 7s team had this summer, the double victory was no cake walk.

On the field our brave team dueled with the likes of the hard hitting Fiji Ambassadors and speedy Strangers with Candy. Off the field the team had to contend with the Flatliners, paramedics who drank frosty beverages from a bedpan and the "Fathers and Sons" team, whose players changed at every whistle.

No easy feat for our brave lads. Never the less, between beating each team by reasonable margins, our never say die team marched right to the garden to take on any and all willing, contributing a huge and sociable chunk to Chilliwack RFC's annual budget.

Congratulations to the team for the victories, to the organizers of the team and to Chilliwack RFC for a great day!
