Saturday started at 5am for the Club and ended with 2 wins and 2 losses for the senior programs
At the crack, the Women piled onto a bus bound for Kamloops for a cross-over game, new to the league this year. They parked on the far side of the field, but not before rolling right over it with a convincing 47-10 victory. The 2nd division game had to be forfeit to the Rogues with many of our players missing this weekend.
All three Men’s teams were at UBC with varying success. The 3rd division was on the wrong end of a 49 – 15 scoring line as the spry students ran amok. The 2nd division fared much better with a well earned 27 – 20 win thanks to strong, on-field leadership at several key positions while the 1st division blew a half-time lead of 15 – 12 to fall apart in the second half with unforced errors and discipline issues. On that front, all three teams kept up their weekly commitment to playing with 14 players for at least a quarter of the game. A couple red cards and a fistful of yellows interrupted performances by full-squads but on the positive side, the club is cementing some really valuable relationships with the Disciplinary Committee thanks to the weekly meetings.
